Our principles...

We believe that fresh, nutritious, local food should be available to everyone, and in building a resilient local community to face the climate crisis.  Our food production should not be at the expense of the planet.  We try to achieve this through…
  • no-dig and regenerative agriculture for healthier soils and to lock in carbon
  • organic principles, seeds and plants, and peat-free composts
  • people power!  (minimal use of machinery)
  • no single-use plastic and minimal packaging (recycled, re-used or biodegradable and compostable)
  • nature-friendly growing
  • community involvement – reconnecting people with nature and where their food comes from, growing for and with the community
  • local food for local people – very small target area to reduce food miles
  • seasonal  food – we grow what we can, when we can, in our local climate and conditions
  • Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) – see below

Community Supported Agriculture is…

Integral to what we do is the concept of Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) - which is a partnership between farmers and consumers in which the responsibilities, risks and rewards of farming are shared. It is a model of farming which addresses concerns about the lack of transparency, sustainability and resilience of our food system, and is one of the most radical ways that we can re-take control and ownership of our food system. It aims to reconnect people with how and where their food is grown. More info at https://communitysupportedagriculture.org.uk/
