Where can I collect from?
  • Veg boxes will be ready for you at our collection points on Wednesday afternoons, by 3pm at Horner Farm, Porlock and Minehead, and by 4pm at Allerford and Wootton Courtenay.
  • These local collection points help us to reduce the time, cost and environmental impact of our deliveries compared with doorstep deliveries.

Eggs too?
  • You can also order organic eggs from Horner Farm with your veg box (at extra cost and when available).  Keep an eye on the WhatsApp group or email for updates

How much veg will I get?
  • We offer 3 sizes of veg share; Small (5-7 items, Standard (7-9 items) and Family size shares (8-10 items, with larger portions of most).
  • This will vary with the seasons, when we have a bountiful harvest your share will increase, and when the harvest reduces so will your share. But the monthly price remains the same throughout the year

How fresh is your veg?
  • The majority of your veg will be harvested on the same day as it is delivered, so you can’t get much fresher.
  • This is one of the real advantages of a genuinely local supply, and allows us to use a lot less packaging (yay!).
  • Some veg, will benefit from going in the fridge or some water as soon as possible though, or just eat them quickly!

Is your veg washed?
  • Whilst we’ll sometimes give it a quick rinse off, please consider the veg in your shares as ’unwashed’.
  • We’d recommend giving it a good wash off before eating or cooking.

Are we organic?
  • We are not allowed to say that we’re ‘organic’ as we’re not certified, but rest assured we grow our veg in a nature-friendly way, never using nasty chemicals or artificial fertilisers.
  • We use No-Dig and Regenerative Agriculture approaches, trying to build healthier soil, promoting wildlife, keeping carbon in the ground, and minimising the use of machinery and fossil fuels.
  • We use organic seeds, plants, and compost whenever possible.

How is the veg packaged?
  • To minimise plastic waste, we only package your veg when it’s really necessary.  All our crates and tubs are re-purposed and used many times, and our bags are compostable and biodegradable.
  • Please return the veg crates, smaller tubs and bags (if still usable) to collection points so we can re-use them. Thank you!

What happens when I go on holiday?
  • No problem! Our prices have been calculated to give you one ‘free week’ during the season, so we hope you will continue your monthly payment even if you will be away for a week or two.
  • If you are away, we encourage you to nominate a friend or neighbour to receive your veg share instead, or we will happily donate it to the West Somerset Food Cupboard’s Local Pantry on your behalf.
  • We see this as a nice way to spread some good vibes into the local community in the form of tasty veggies!
  • You may pause your monthly membership if you’re going to be away for a month or more.

How and when should I pay?
  • As a CSA we want to engage our customers in where their food comes from and how it grows, and we hope you’ll be with us for the whole season.
  • To enable us to better plan the growing and use of our crops, and to reduce administration, we ask you to pay for your veg share as a monthly subscription, in advance, by the 7th of the month.
  • If you are a new member we ask that you join us for a month trial to begin with.

Can I cancel?
  • Whilst we hope to have you on board all season long, you can cancel your membership at any time, but please try to give us a month’s notice.  This gives us time  to find someone to take your place.
