Volunteer with us
Come and join inWould you like to help out with the team at Good Vibe Veg? No experience necessary. We just need your willingness and enthusiasm. There are plenty of jobs to do, ranging from sowing, weeding, planting out and harvesting according to the season, to administrative tasks - all with the aim of making sure the vegetable boxes are filled with tasty, healthy, locally-grown food for the weekly deliveries.
Whether you prefer to work standing up or sitting down, there will be a job for you to get involved in. We meet every Friday morning around 10am for a few hours, and you are welcome to help for as little or as long as you would like to.
- You will have a chance to meet up with like-minded people who share your values and who live locally.
- We meet in a stunning setting. The field is in the Vale of Porlock in West Somerset, with views towards Horner Woods in one direction and Bossington Hill in the other. Just spending time here is enriching for both the body and the mind. You will hear ravens kronking, buzzards mewing, swallows twittering - amongst volunteers chatting and children playing. It is peaceful but rarely silent.
- There is so much to learn. You may find inspiration for your own garden, and learn about how to cultivate and tend a wide range of food crops suited to local conditions. You will also learn about what is involved in producing the food for those weekly veg shares. How many leeks need to be sown and transplanted? How long does it take to pick enough salad leaves for a decent bag to go into each box?
- And last but not least, there is cake. Every week Adam and Leighanne bring along a delicious home-made cake for our mid-morning tea break.
